I am Chinmay Shukla, a Senior Data Scientist at PathAI. I help lead the clinical analysis for many of our liver projects. Particularly, I am focussed on understanding liver pathologies such as Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH) and Hepatitis B. We train deep learning models to quantify pathology images and layer on fundamental statistical models to draw insights about these diseases, and the effect of particular drugs. Our work has been published in several leading liver conferences such as EASL and AASLD.
Previously, I helped build and improve recommender systems for fashion and retail clients at True Fit Corporation. I was a graduate student in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences program at Harvard Medical School. My thesis project focussed on characterizing sequence elements responsible for different functions of long non coding RNAs (lncRNAs) under the direction of Dr. Rafael Irizarry.
Outside work, I am passionate about photography, reading non-fiction, hiking and finance. This page provides information on my research projects along with my broader interests. I frequently blog my thoughts about machine learning, statistics, graduate school and life at Outside Two Standard Deviations.
